Stairlifts are relatively quick and easy to remove and will take from less than an hour (for a simple straight lift) to a couple of hours (for a curved stairlift), almost all modern stairlifts are screwed down to the actual staircase and not the walls, however some will have the occasional bracket that may be screwed in to a wall (in the case of old type platforms)

What is included in the stairlift removal service?

  • Removal of the stairlift seat and chassis
  • Removal of the stairlifts rail system (straight or curved)
  • Removal of the chargers and any external boxes
  • Cleaning (vacuuming) of the stair case after removal
  • Reinstatement of hand rails if they were removed and stored prior to removal
  • Making good (filling) holes in walls, left ready to be sanded
  • Remove from site and disposal of the lift in accordance with regulations

What is not included in stairlift removal service?

  • Replacement or repair of the carpets (this can be arranged for you via a third party if required)
  • Decoration/painting of the walls or woodwork

Home lifts and through floor lifts are a little bit more involved in there removal, however this can still usually be achieved in less than a days work, as a through floor or home lift involved structural changes to your home removing them will leave a couple of supplementary jobs that need to be done, for example filling the hole in the floor so no one can fall through it and making it safe (we do this part), please see below the included and excluded items in this service.

What is included in the home lift removal service?

  • Full removal of the home lift or through the floor lift
  • Removal of any pumps/cables/external machinery
  • Reinstatement of floor joists within the aperture
  • Secured plywood replacement flooring within the aperture in the upstairs room
  • Plaster boarding of the aperture hole in the ceiling in the downstairs room ready for plastering
  • Making good (filling) holes in walls, left ready to be sanded
  • Remove from site and disposal of the lift in accordance with regulations
  • Cleaning (vacuuming) of the lift area after removal

What is not included in our home lift removal service?

  • Plastering of the ceilings (area will be left ready for plastering)
  • Decoration of walls, ceilings or woodwork
  • Replacement or repair of the carpets (this can be arranged for you via a third party if required)

As we are a long established mobility equipment and domestic lift supplier throughout the East of England, we have a network of third party plumbers, electricians, carpenters, carpet fitters, locksmiths and many other trades who are tried, tested and approved by us, if your project requires other work then we are more than happy to have one of our approved trades quote you for these extra jobs, however if you just want a picture hanging up or your bin taking out we will do that for free during our removal visit!!
