Home or Stairlift Repairs? Consider It Done!

Efficient stairlift repair process is key for our customers

We thought we’d outline our entire home and stairlift repair process from the moment you contact us to the successful resolution.

Our systems allow us to centrally monitor each customer service case. So we can keep you completely up to date throughout the repair process.

Anglian Lifts home and stairlift repairs are scheduled and monitored with our unique in-house process.

From emergency repairs to scheduled servicing and installations to removals it’s all tracked so we can keep you, the customer, informed every step of the way.

We are constantly evolving and improving our internal procedures to ensure they are streamlined, efficient and focused on the customer.

1. Contact Us

The first part of the process is to contact us. There are several ways:

2. Identify the lift

The office staff will ask a series of questions about your lift for example:

  • Make
  • Type
  • Model
  • Age

It’s always best to try and have this ito hand as this can speed up the process. But, don’t worry if you can’t find this information the team can usually guide you over the phone.

This helps us understand if we have the skills and parts to help. We stock the most common spares

3. Is a repair necessary?

Is an engineer visit actually required? We don’t like to waste your money by coming out to simply switch a lift back on!

There are a number of simple checks we might ask you to perform. These check to see if lights or error codes are displayed which could give a clue as to the issue or fault.

– Discuss the background. When did the fault occur?

We will also ask what happened at the point the problems started. In most cases this will get you going again without the need for a chargeable call-out to your home. But it can provide context for why the fault is happening.

If the above tests reveal an issue requires a visit we will discuss the approximate cost of the call out based on our experience. There is no obligation to go ahead.

Under usual circumstances we do not take pre-payment for a standard service or repair visit. We only require payment when the visit is complete. A deposit may be required when making a service booking if replacement parts need to be pre-ordered or major works.

If you’re happy to go ahead we’ll book you in.

If you agree to have an engineer despatched then you will be asked to provide some personal details:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number

These details will be entered on to our system and the advisor will arrange a visit date and time slot. This is usually a window of a couple of hours.

The speed of our response can vary depending on circumstance and priority. For example someone stuck on a stairlift will receive a high priority. A flat battery in a remote control will receive a lower priority.

Stairlifts and homes lifts are vital to your wellbeing. That’s why we aim to attend within 24hrs of your initial booking. It does of course depend on engineer availability.

Our experienced engineers are regularly trained by the stairlift and home lift brands. They should be able to get your lift back up and running in most cases the same day.

You will receive a notification via email and/or text message that confirms the date we will be attending. A booking reminder is also sent via email or text message 24 hours before the scheduled visit. This is an automated message that our system generates.

You can be assured that Anglian Lifts send the best engineers to fix your stairlift or home lift.

We efficiently manage our field service engineers throughout our coverage area.

You will be kept up to date with our engineer’s anticipated arrival time if you opted to leave an email address or mobile phone number,

You also have the ability to message the engineer directly by clicking a link within the message.

An initial conversation about your lift and the issues you are experiencing.

Home or Stairlift repair

Our engineer will check the lift over and repair it if.

You will be quoted the costs for replacement parts if required. Batteries and other consumables are usually carried on the vans.

Our standard call-out charges include 1 hour of labour and most issues can be resolved.

Test to see if the lift works to your satisfaction

Test your stairlift or home lift to check that the repairs have solved the issue. Ask any questions or raise any other issues you may have.

If you’re happy then you’ll be asked to sign off the job. This is to confirm you are happy and satisfied the job has been completed.

Taking Payment

Payment will then be made by credit card, debit card, cheque, cash or by invoice/ bank transfer if pre-agreed during booking.

Save the job details

Your job details will be saved on our system. If you agree, we will place a QR code to help us quickly pull up the service history of your lift in future.

We will also, as standard, attach an Anglian Lifts sticker visibly to your lift so our number is close to hand for any future issues that may arise.
